About us.

Liquid Amber Tattoo was first conceptualized by Justina Kervel & Luvia Petersen during their travels to Paris in the year 2000.  A chance meeting with tattoo artist Phillipine of Kaplan Art Studio inspired the girls to contribute to the rise of female tattoo artistry.

Liquid Amber Tattoo opened their doors the summer of 2001 in Vancouver's Kitsilano area.

Liquid Amber now resides at 62 Powell Street in Vancouver's Gastown area and is home to a group of diversely talented artists.

One of the main changes since Liquid Amber’s grassroots beginning is its growth.  Much like a bunny, Liquid Amber has grown from one lonely artist to a disfunctional functioning family of four. It now encompasses a vast variety of artistry and style.  This is due largely to Justina's aprenticeship program which nurtured emerging artists  Jenny Jarrett, Kylie Gibson, and Rene Botha.

These three diverse artists worked tirelessly under Justina's guidence to hone their skills as tattoo artists.  With this dynamic tattoo team, clients will feel confident in knowing their artistic vision will be translated to skin with percision and professionalism.

This female operated studio is home to a welcoming atmosphere for all walks of life.  Whether it is your first or 100th tattoo, you can be assured that we will make it our priority you walk away with a piece of art you can be proud of for years to come.
