Kylie grew up in the small town of New Westminster. Her love for drawing emerged early in life, and with the help of encouraging parents who would simply smile when they discovered her bedroom walls filled with doodles, Kylie persisted in turning her closet sized bedroom into a bustling city of imagination. An ongoing project, her bedroom grew to be an imaginary world, complete with colourful characters, city districts, princesses, frogs, and even an underground sewer system which hosted weekly gatherings of for the rodents of unusual size whose sole purpose in life was to steal the world’s supply of toilet paper.
At the age of twelve, Kylie decided she would make her way in the world by drawing, painting and writing. After high school, Kylie attended SFU where she graduated with an English degree. Finally having conquered her native tongue, she set out to make her childhood dreams come true. Always having an immense interest in the tattooing world, Kylie landed a job at Liquid Amber Tattoo in the summer of 2008.
Now apprenticing under Justina Kervel, Kylie loves designing anything challenging. She particularly enjoys the realistic style and draws much of her inspiration from artists such as Tamara de Lempicka, Sheila Wolk, and Alex Ross. In the years to come, Kylie hopes to not only have a prospering tattoo career, but also on her way to the best-seller list.
