Laura hails from Port Elgin, a small town in rural Ontario. Growing up there was one or two tattoo shops in the county but none in her town. That didn't stop Laura from developing a fascination for the art of tattooing. She started drawing and painting when she was 15, and never looked back. After graduating highschool, she took a beach sabbatical that summer before moving to Vancouver to study Fine Arts at the University of British Columbia.
Upon exploration of the Vancouver tattoo scene, Laura met Justina and the rest of the Liquid Amber team. After building her portfolio, Laura was able to acquire an apprenticeship with Justina which she started in January 2008 and finished April 2009. She's since been enhancing her trade, practicing on herself and taking on new clients, giving them tattoos they can be proud of. She really loves working in colour which stems from inspirations such assurrealism and graphic novels, though many of her creative pursuits are heavily influenced by music.
Laura's future plans include tattooing while traveling the world, specifically South America and Italy. Until her journey takes her there she will enjoy working at Liquid Amber because of its great atmosphere and amazing respectable people.
