This spring, Liquid Amber Tattoo & Art Collective in Vancouver invites you into Familiar, a group exhibition featuring three local artists whose work explores comfort, memory, and the magic woven into everyday life. Through bold colour, tender storytelling, and mythic forest worlds, David Camisa, Rachel “Tuna” Petrovicz, and Megan Majewski each offer their own interpretation of what it means to feel connected to something both known and transformative.

In this collection, David Camisa brings his mural sensibility into the gallery space, using bright, block colours and graphic forms to create high impact imagery rooted in stylized flora and fauna. His work balances the surreal and the recognizable, simplifying form and amplifying colour to heighten emotional resonance and invite moments of stillness and curiosity.

Rachel “Tuna” Petrovicz turns their focus to their favourite subject, cats, drawing inspiration from their beloved companions Nori and Flapjack. Through softness in both palette and form, they capture the warmth and comfort of feline companionship, evoking a sense of safety and gentle nostalgia whether you are a cat person or not.

Megan Majewski expands her evolving world of forest creatures, placing them in a landscape shaped by fire. Suspended between destruction and renewal, her creatures and flowers embody the quiet tension of life, death, and rebirth, offering a powerful meditation on resilience and transformation.

Familiar will be on our gallery walls from now until the end of May 2026. Join us for a special Art Social with the artists from 7 to 10 pm, featuring tattoo flash, tarot readings, communal painting, live portraits, door prizes, libations, and more. It is an evening designed to gather, create, and celebrate the art that connects us.
